Week 14 Blog Post

 Olivia Langosch

This week I learned about how to make lessons for every type of student. We saw an activity with a sheet that students are supposed to fill out for the lesson, the sink or float one. We got to think to ourselves and with peers about what we can do for kids who are behind with reading, or advanced. We wrote down what we would do to change this lesson for each student. The sheet is down below with my ideas.

The second activity we did was make a flip video about either the water forming on the can, or why ice melts on metal faster than wood. Me and my partner did the can one. This activity really helped me and my partner understand why this happens, talking about the droplets from the air forming on the can when the can is cold and it meets the warm air. This is what creates water droplets and they combine making it big droplets, then they separate creating a bunch of drops on the can.

I can relate this to what I already know because I was always curious about why the water forms on cans, but I always jsut thought it happens because of the warm meeting the cold, I did not realize that there was more to it.

I will be including this kind of activity in my future classroom because for me this helped me understand each step of why certain things happen, so I think this would be helpful for my students to understand the way with making it fun by drawing pictures.

  1. Hi Olivia,
I also really enjoyed the activity where we used our own ideas and brainstormed ways to enhance or change the sheet for students who may struggle or are ahead. This is a ery important concept that I am glad as a class we were able to talk about. Great Post!
